Our students enjoyed their sports days this week with the Junior Sports Day taking place on Tuesday and the Senior Sports Day on Wednesday. As always they were two fun filled days. Some of the activities included basketball, long puck, unihoc, obstacle course, relay race, penalty shoot-out and the ever popular wellie throw! Thank you to Mr. Rock for organising the two days. Below are some pictures from the Senior Sports Day.

As a special end of year treat the PTA very kindly invited all students and staff out to the yard today for ice-cream! The excitement was palpable when the familiar jingle of the ice-cream van rang throughout the school grounds. Eager children (and even more eager adults) took to the yard for a tasty treat, well earned after a tough year's work. A big thank you to everyone on the PTA for organising this special event!
Friday 3rd May was Fill The Van day. On this day, everyone brings in bags of old clothes, bed clothes etc. and they are all put into a van and driven away. Each bag collected earns money for our school and the charity ISPCC. The class with the most bags was Mr. Lane's 5th class with a massive 77 bags! I saw all the bags in the school hall and I was astonished! Overall the day was a huge success and the school will profit greatly from the boys' efforts.

The 4 boys were David Kiely, Kevin Singleton, Seán Usher and Cormac Dempsey and they were being awarded this trophy for winning the All Ireland Credit Union Schools Quiz.
Ms. B. Dunne spoke about what they would be doing during the presentation and then Mr. Drewett gave a speech to thank the boys for representing their school and to congratulate the boys on their tremendous achievement. Then finally a Credit Union representative spoke and presented the boys with certificates. The two teachers, Ms. Dunne and Mr. O'Reilly, were also given a bunch of flowers and a sculpture of a blackboard with the word "Champions" etched into it. Then when the presentations were over, everyone assembled in the middle yard for a photo for the Leinster Leader. The presentation then came to a close. It was a great day. A connection was made on Twitter and this developed into a transatlantic writing project involving lots and lots of sweets (or candy)! Click here to read more about it.
