Take a closer look at some the photographs that the boys enjoyed during the recent exhibition. They offer a fascinating glimpse into our town's history.
The exhibition took us all back 100 years or more in pictures to a Naas of bygone days. It offered us the opportunity to compare and contrast many unique images of the town 100 years ago to how they look today. Although many buildings have changed and indeed some have disappeared altogether, there are many that have retained a remarkable similarity. The owners and the businesses may have changed but many buildings are still recognisable from those earlier days.
The images old and new allowed us to see and visualise the great changes in the social history of the town and its people over the last century. We took a look back at Naas pictured in a more leisurely and a less hectic time, while at the same time comparing it today as it appears in the hustle and bustle of the 21st century.
Mr. Larry Breen from Naas History Society liaised with Ms. B. Dunne to make this wonderful exhibition happen in our school hall. Rafal hung all the photos with care and all the classes were thrilled to see over 100 photos.
