A Christmas Poem by Jack, Room 21

20/12/2013

Christmas in the City

The streets were lit up by lights - how they glowed.

I watched in amazement as I walked down the road.

More shopping than lounging,

One store to the other,

And I laughed and I played as I followed my mother.

The carol singers sang,

The bell ringers rang,

The little children screamed

As their twinkling eyes beamed.

I saw such a sight in this one little night,

But when I got home I was out like a light.

As I fell to the bed my mind drifted away

To the excitement that would happen that amazing next day.

That next morning I opened the door

To find a thousand presents, maybe millions or more!

As I ripped and I tore I shouted with glee,

As my mother exclaimed “Look, more presents to see!”

David Mitchell, a teacher in the UK, is also a big fan of blogging. He has set up various blogging projects over the last few years. His latest project is all about getting students from all over the world to blog about Christmas. You can read our posts and those from others by visiting christmas.quadblogging.net. If you click on "corbans" here or in the sidebar of the blog you will see all of our posts together.
