In class we learnt about the life cycle of a butterfly. Then on the 14th of May an amazing thing happened. Our teacher told us that we had 10 caterpillars that we were going to look after and hopefully see them turn into butterflies. We watched them very closely everyday to make sure that they had food and were safe and warm. It was very exciting watching them grow bigger everyday. 2 weeks later our caterpillars had turned to chrysalis and then slowly into butterflies. On the 8th of June it was a great but sad day. We had to release our butterflies. We brought them out to our school field and said "Slán go fóill" to John, Max, Rose, Joey, Ben, Jess, Daisy, Frank, Rainbow and Kay. We really miss them but some of them have come back to visit us when we were playing out in the yard which was lovely. We really loved learning about the life cycle of a butterfly.

We did butterfly collages for our school's art exhibition. We had so much fun making our art and then going to see it in the art exhibition in the school hall. Our Mammys and Daddys came to see the art exhibition too. It was really cool. We had our first ever Sports Day in St. Corbans on Monday 25th of June. The weather was really, really hot. We had loads of fun. We got such a surprise when the ice cream van visited our school recently. Thank you to the school's PTA who organised it. It was yummy! On Friday 22nd of June we went on our school tour to Tricky Tricksters. We had a brilliant time! Here are some photos of our Teddy Bear's Picnic that we had out in our school field in the beautiful sunshine. |
