Huge Congratulations to St. Corban’s Under 13 Gaelic Football Team for performing brilliantly and securing a win in the final against Scoil Uí Riada on Tuesday, 26th May, with a score of 4-10 to 2-4.

The Highlights
Corban’s started the game strongly and built up a healthy lead by half time thanks to some excellent teamwork and sharp finishing. However, Scoil Uí Riada showed tremendous determination after the break and battled all the way back to level matters with just ten minutes remaining. To their credit, St.Corban’s responded brilliantly in the closing stages and finished the game with real style and composure. Jeff White led the charge up front with a magnificent tally of 2-5, while Alex chipped in with four wonderful points from play and frees. Finn Hendrick also played a starring role, finishing the game with two excellent goals, while Sam Clancy brought the crowd to their feet with an outstanding point.
At the back, goalkeeper Oisín was assured throughout and made some excellent saves and kickouts at important stages of the game. In defence, Alex Travers, Mark Daly and Cillian Breen were outstanding in the full-back line. Alex, in particular, displayed tremendous strength and read the game brilliantly throughout. Tom, Matthew and Felix provided a strong platform from the half-back line and worked tirelessly to break up attacks and drive the team forward.
At midfield, Conor and Peter covered every blade of grass and worked relentlessly for the team. Further forward, the attacking flair of Jack, Peter and Alex supplied the ammunition for Jeff, Aidan and Finn to finish the job in style.
Great credit must also go to Sam, Neil, Ciarán and Roan, who all made excellent impact when introduced.
